This last holiday weekend, I don't think that my husband, Rick and I even watched or listened to the news reports. We were into each other, cook-outs, family, fireworks, watching movies at home, yard work and fun new outdoor landscape projects.Reality hit at 5:26AM this morning waking up to our usual radio program (850AM) hitting us over the heads with a barrage of bad news, dire warnings, and "the sky is falling!" comments.


I feel it everywhere I go. There is a lot of hostility and anxiety floating around out there. You feel that you have to walk on eggshells around some folks for fear of setting them off.OK, it's an election year. Fuel and food are high right now and some uncertainty looms. Personally, I remember waiting in long lines to buy gas, black and white generic labels on foods at the grocery stores and President Nixon declaring "no Christmas lights this year!".Calm yourself folks. Drink some green tea, go for a walk or run outdoors, spend sometime in your garden observing nature, cheer at a sporting event, chant-whatever it takes to get yourself to a better place. It's a cycle and things will bounce back.
